Apple Plum Tart

36

At the end of August I was experimenting with black plums in recipes. Doing a dinner party I made a plum sorbet with sesame brittle that was a crowd pleaser.

Another dessert or breakfast item that made the cut is this beautiful apple plum tart.

Using a store bought puff pastry will cut down on the pre time. That means you’ll be eating this masterpiece in no time.

So here’s how to do it…

Tools:

cutting board

knife

large bowl

vegetable peeler

apple corer (I don’t use one but I hear they are amazing)

sheet tray

parchment paper

foil

Ingredients:

2 large apples peeled, cored and sliced thin

4-6 plums peeled, pitted  and sliced thin

1 frozen rolled out puff pastry-pinch the edges to create a crust effect

1/4 c. sugar

2T. Coconut sugar – optional (or more white sugar)

2T. ground cinnamon

1-2 tsp. ground nutmeg

1/2 tsp. ground cloves

2 T. flour

Method:

Pull out your puff pastry at the beginning so it is defrosted slightly And ready foe the sheet tray.

Peel and core or pit plums and apples. Slice them thin and place into mixing bowl.  Add the rest of the ingredients in~toss together with hands to coat all plums and apples. Give each a taste…does it need more sugar or spice? If so add now, you got this everyone likes their food alittle different so use my recipe as your guide and make it yours!

unroll your puff pastry on parchment lined sheet tray. Pinch the edges to create a barrier or crust.

Pour coated fruit onto pastry spread out so it Cooks evenly.

Bake at 375° for 15 covered with foil. Uncover and turn oven to 400° for 10 minutes to finish cooking and brown your apples.

I know your going to love this tart. Make it for your next dinner or brunch.
